C:\WINDOWS\inf\biini.inf .... I found a C:\WINDOWS\inf\biini.PNF ... but not an inf...???

couldn't find this one: C:\WINDOWS\system32\fgfkgfg.dll

So far so good... the big prob I was having was the WebNexus popups... I'll surf around the net tonight and see if any more of those blasted pop-ups come back lol.

I gotta give you guys credit... you dedicate some of your own personal time to help otheres get rid of spyware, adware, viruses, and all that other nasty crap, and that is an awesome thing.

I just can't believe some people have nothing better to do than find ways to mess up other people's computers in one way or another. I'm just happy there's people like you out there who offer their expertise in helping people like me get rid of this stuff. I thank you for all of your help so far.

Soon as I get a few extra bucks, I'm def going to donate to the site. Right now, with mom being off of work still and my own medical problems, money's tight,... but I will be sure to help out as soon as I can.

I'll let you know if everything's okie dokie, thanks again!!! :tazz:

safe mode or regular?

The pop-ups are wayyyy less then they were before... but yesterday there was like 3 in a row, and I've gotten probably 2 today... so everything is still much better...

And what do you recommend for keeping spyware and adware off of your computer? I'm running Norton and Spyware Doctor (didn't have much luck with Adaware or Spybot Search and Destroy)?

Go ahead and run WinPFind in normal mode and let's see what shows up.

Don't rely on Norton too much. It'll stop a lot of true viruses, but won't do much for you on spyware and adware. I like Spysweeper and Ewido together. They compliment each other very well and will catch the great majority of malware that gets by Norton.

Well I finally got the scan done... seems my CPU fan is working on and off now when it wants to... replaced the fan and it's still doin the same thing lol.

Anywhos... my sister just not informed me the barrage (i think tha'ts the right word) of pop-ups she got was from FreeArcade.com... so she agreed to not to go that site anymore. Here's the WinPFind log...

WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding.

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

I don't find anything troubling in that log.

I wouldn't call it a barrage, but I also get attempted popups at that site. It's not necessarily malware related, more likely just a form of advertising.

Check out Firefox as an alternate browser to IE. It does a good job of blocking popups and it's much more secure.

http://www.mozilla.o...oducts/firefox/

Let me know if you are having other problems, or lots of popups from random sites.

OH okie dokie well that's good.

(btw... I'm already using Mozilla Firefox... I like it MUCH better than IE) IE is on the shelf permanently lol.

Thanks again for your help! Only other problem I'm having isn't malware related (CPU fan works when it wants to now for some reason)... but I'm looking into that.

Thanks so much again!! And hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!
