I really need help with my laptop. It's a Compaq Pressario 700UK. I've had it about 3 years and for the last year i've been having problems with it. The start menu and bar at the bottom has disappeared and wont come back. The only way to actually use it is to Ctrl, Alt, Del it and go from there. I rang the Compaq people up and they said to use the system restore disk.....but i dont have it...
what can i do to restore the factory settings????

:tazz: Any help would be really appreciated. Thankyou ;)

you can try this if you want, or you can reformat windows - but i don't recommend that one. i think they mean to try and RESTORE your system to an earlier state. can you access the start menu?

Are you sure your start bar isn't hidden north, east, or west in your display?

Lemme know.

I think I might have sorted it. I had a good hunt round earlier and found my Compaq Recovery CD. This is what the compaq person told me to find. I think I may have sorted it now. Thanks for the help guys. I'll let you know how i go..
