When windows update starts downloading it just freezes and tells me " installation unsuccessful or download unsuccessful" please help ?

Do you get any error codes? Normally if the windows update fails it will give you an erorr code which you can then work out what is causing the problem.

I assume you're running IE - because you wouldn't get to the download stage with any other browser...

It may have something to do with your connection. Check that you don't have any AV/Firewall programs blocking downloads...

That's my best guess.

I dont have any problems with other downloads except for windows update

try it again now, then check to see if there is an error code it gives you.

check your system logs....it may be logging an error in there.. most downloads wont but since this is a microsoft download it might.

All i got is this

To install updates from this website, you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group on your computer. If you use Windows XP, you can see if you are an administrator by going to User Accounts in Control Panel.

Note: If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you using this website. Contact your system administrator for help with updates.

But I'm the only Administrator using my computer theres noone else ???

Even if you're the only administrator you need to be logged in first.
