alright this one is a little fishy.

the boss's computer is not detecting a usb flash drive. all the usb drivers are up to date and the usb cards and controllers look fine...i plug in two known good usb devices and....nothing...the devices will work on all other machines....anybody got any clues?

Are you getting the 5 volts at the connectors? May have a "fuse" of some sort opened up. Do any other devices work when plugged in?

haven't tried any other type of usb device...but i will in a second...and don't have a volt meter

the pc will detect a usb floppy drive that we have but it has errors (please don't ask me for the errors. the pc is running japanese XP veeeerrryyy hard to read) but it doesn't show up in explorer.
