ActiveX is necessary to run alot of web pages in IE. Sometimes a website may need to install a new activeX plugin on your pc in order for you to get the full participation of the website. Some websites install activeX plugins that they use for harmful uses like installing trackers and malware. There are a couple things we can do here. The first easiest one it to click "Tools" in internet explorer at the top of the window. Next click "Internet Options", click the "Security" tab, then click "Custom" Now set your activeX controls like this.
Download Signed ActiveX Controls -prompt
Download Unsigned ActiveX Controls -disable
Initialize and script ActiveX Controls not marked as Safe -disable
Run ActiveX Controls and Plugins -enable
Script ActiveX Controls marked safe for Scripting -enable

This will set you up so you will be asked if you want to download an ActiveX control or not. If you trust the site then say yes, if you aren't sure then say no. Keep in mind if you say no you may not be able to take full advantage of the site, but that might outweigh the malware you might be infected with.

The best way to fix this vulnerability is to switch to Mozilla's Firefox browser instead of Internet Explorer. Firefox does not use ActiveX therefore all activeX vulnerabilities are gone. Please click the Firefox banner in my signature and start your way to safer, faster, better browsing....
