System Operating Slow

My system is running slow. It takes very long to start up and boot down. I thought there was malware files, so I did the items listed on your instructions. I even downloaded the new Windows Beta file and ran that. I've rebooted, and updated windows and rebooted many times. I also went into msconfig and stopped many of the start processes to see if something is boggin it down. Here is my log - thank you.

your internet explorer is out of date, but truthfully, there is no malware that I see.

You have symantec internet security which loads a TON of stuff, and greatly slows down your pc. Baically, though, you should leave it.

There could be things that are occuring that are not evident in this log....so

note the time

start > run, type
eventvwr.msc

Look under systems and applications for items with red Xs that happened at the SAME time as your reboot-shutdown cycle ...list them here.[/code]
