Ok I recently got rid of my old computer and got a new old one and installed windows xp with the service pack 2 on it and now it wont let me activate it cause i have used it before. Just wondering what will happen if i dont activate it and what can I do to activate it?

if this is a legal copy of windows you can activate it over the phone...just tell them you had to format/reinstall

Howdy and welcome to G2G:

If you don't activate, it will quit working in 30 days or less..

Use the "Phone Microsoft" option for activation.. Tell them the circumstances and they will provide you with a new activation code..
