[Emily]

I cannot remove "...MediaTicketsInstaller.ocx..." adware from my computer. I have run Ad-Aware SE, SpyWare Doctor, Registry Mechanic and Norton's Anti-virus but this particular adware continues to show up on my Norton scans. I have run HijackThis. Please advise regarding the following Log:

Glad it looks clean but still want to get to the bottom of this.
This is what is showing up when I do a Norton Anti-virus scan:

Description: The file C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\CONFLICT.43\MediaTicketsInstaller.ocx is a Adware threat.

There are 8 instances of this with different numbers after the word "CONFLICT".

Try these things:

Try going to add/remove programs and see if it's there: remove it if it is.

Do a search for it: make sure hidden files are shown and delete files found.

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Let me know if those work...if not, we'll try one more thing.

Tried all that ... not in add/remove, not in hidden files and Disc Clean-up didn't change anything.

You said there was one more thing? Sounds like I'm getting to the end of the line ...

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(Windows XP)
1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

Clean out your disc and your temp. files. Find your temp. files by right-clicking on explore and navigating to all the temp. files. Make sure they're empty. Clean them all out and clean your disc again.

Reboot

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
