HDD Problems

Well I have done a bit here and still not sure what to do. First off my Mobo is a Gigabyte GA-7NNXP. I have updated one of the Bioses from 7NNXP.F15 to F19. I have set the jumper to Master on the HDD. I am trying to partition Elx Linux 4.0.
my bios junk
GigaRAID Bios v1.41 F/W Ver 02093030 this shows up top on the secound screen

The first screen shows
Award Modular v6.00PG then GA-7NNXP F15 well F19 now.

My HDD is a
Maxtor MaXLine II 5A300J0 300GB 5400 RPM IDE Ultra ATA133.

Well the Bios both F15 and F19 detected the HDD. The problem is when I have the HDD pluged in it stops on Verifying DMI Pool Data. Then if I unplug it it goes and even boots from the CD. Well I have got trough 1 time with the HDD but it just ended up saying no HDD found when trying to partition. Any help would be appreciated.
