Hi forum!

I'm new here so please direct me to the solution if a solution has been found for the following problem:

I have Win XP installed on my computer. I installed SP2 about a month ago, and just recently, I installed Norton Antivirus 2004. Now my computer will freeze for about 3 seconds, then unfreeze and work fine, and then freeze again for 3 seconds. This will happen even when dialing up on the internet!

Needless to say, I cannot get anything done on my computer.

I tried to defragment my computer, and the problem went away until the next day when it happened all over again.

Can anyone help? I REALLY DO NOT want to reformat my hard drive.
