I have a Dell 8200 with a factory installed Samsung CDRE/DVD SM-308B drive.
All of a sudden it won't work! My Computer sees the letter, but any program says, "Please insert disc".
I'm working with XP. I have not installed or removed any programs since this began.
Would appreciate any information.

Thanks

Thanks for your effort. The drive letter is there. The device manager says that the device is working properly. I have uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it. Sometimes, I get a positive, yet short burst of time when the drive functions, then it reverts back to this "Please insert a disc" state.
