Please do NOT bump your posts like that. You may only bump your posts if you don't get a reply after 24 hours or more. You bumped a few times in one day there. I closed your other topic. The rule here (from what I read) is that you may bump only after 5 days if no one responds. So you probably should follow that one instead. We get pages and pages.....and pages.... of logs each and every day. It's impossible to get to all of them on time. By bumping, you might be delaying yourself since most of us work on the olders logs first. So please be patient.

OK, since I replied to this topic, you will get a response usually within 24 hours time. No bumping ok. :tazz:

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:

IMesh

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = :0
O2 - BHO: DownloadRedirect Class - {00000000-6CB0-410C-8C3D-8FA8D2011D0A} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\IMESH\IMESH5\IMESHBHO.DLL
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7A1693A1-AFAF-4F1E-9B05-EEC38A85FBF3} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\499p0.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [94Y1E47.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\94Y1E47.EXE /k
O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [94Y1E47.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\94Y1E47.EXE /k

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\5QO.EXE
C:\PROGRAM FILES\IMESH\
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\499p0.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\94Y1E47.EXE

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here.

Run both of these scans:

Run an online virus scan at TrendMicro http://uk.trendmicro...call_launch.php. Just follow the instructions on the site to run the free online scan. If any viruses/trojans are detected, try to delete or clean them in that site. If any are not cleanable, copy and paste the infected files here. You may also use Panda ActiveScan at http://www.pandasoft...ucts/activescan. Post the log from the Panda scan here.

No problem. So far, so good. The log is clean.

Let's see those two scans when you are done.

Grey,

This is the only Malware I found (above). The ATTACK OF THE EXE file is gone, hopefully it will not return. Thank you Grey, you're a lifesaver. I still did not understand what I deleted, I'm learning. Again thank Grey and the staff at Geekstogo.com for your help. This topic is closed ...I guess...lol....hopefully.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\ and delete MAGNET

If any of the above registry keys are giving you problems deleting, right click on them and click on Permissions. Then click on the Advanced button. Make sure the first box (Inherit from parent...) is checked. Click OK and OK. Then try deleting the entry again. Once you're done, close the Registry Editor.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Since this issue appears to be resolved ... this Topic has been closed. Glad we could help. :tazz:
