[hikeleader]

I went to a website and clearly downloaded a trojan.
I have scanned and cleaned numerous files named (Aurora,ABetterInternet,Nameshifter,VX2 among many others)

I have seen popups spawned left and right, I have seen logons for websites I admin popup, mydocs open etc etc

I cleaned as much as I could using Microsoft Anti-Spyware, AdAware, Ewido, Trojan hunter, Norton AntiVirus Corporate etc. Alas I still seem to have the bug.

Downloaded HiJack this into its own folder, executed and have cut and pasted the scan results below. Not sure I see anything obvious here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi hikeleader,

I need to confirm whether it is this infection.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log, and we'll clean up what's left.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Hi Hikeleader,


Please print out these instructions or copy them into a text file on your Desktop for easy access.

During the fix, u will be asked to fix some entries, delete some files or uninstall some programs. If in case, you do not see those entries / files / programs, please make a note of it. Continue with the fix and in your next post please inform me of all deviations from the fix prescribed.

1. Download Programs

Please download these programs and save them in a new folder on your desktop -

CleanUp
DelDomains.inf

2. Remove Infections

Run CleanUp and delete all temp files including temporary internet files

Right click oN DelDomains.inf and click on Install.

3. Run Hijack This

Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Close all windows other than Hijack This. Check the boxes next to above items and click on Fix checked.

Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch and delete all the files in that folder. Dont delete the folder, only the files in it !!!!!!!!


Reboot the PC in Normal Mode.

Please visit Panda and do an online scan. Save the scan report.

Run Hijack This and post a fresh HJT log along with Panda scan report.

Before Panda finishes scan IE shuts down.
Usually gets almost completely done before it shuts.
Indicates 4 infected files.

My signature has links for online scan at 4 sites (including Panda). Could try a scan at one of the other sites ??

I would like to get those 4 files also !!!!
