IE Explorer Favorites Icons

After adding a favorite website to my list of favorites in Internet Explorer, the icon that goes next to it in the side bar menu always seems to disappear. The icons generally look somthing like this....Posted Image

What's going on with my computer? Is this normal and can it be fixed?

Yeah, it seems to be normal. I don't really have any special icons from the site showing on my favs.
