My computer got attacked by the Winfix 2005 virus. I followed the steps on another similar post and downloaded hijack this. The log came up as follows:

In my last/first freaked-out post ( ;) ), I'd written about how my computer had been attacked by Winfixer 2005. I ran various anti-virus/anti-spyware programs and none recognized it as a threat as it was slowly downloading nothing on my computer for hours. :tazz:

When I turned the computer on this morning, a pop-up came up asking if I'd like to run Winfixer and I pressed no. I looked at the bottom toolbar (the only place where a Winfix icon had appeared) and the circular icon was no longer there.

Can I assume the virus is gone? If not, where should I check to see if it's hidden?

Hi, MegB,

You seem to have multiple infections.
Let's start with this:
Please run this online virus scan:
Panda ActiveScan: : http://www.pandasoft...com/activescan/

Click on "Scan your PC"
A box will pop-up, click "Next"; Then, type in your email address and click "Send"
Select your Country and State/Region. Click "Start"
A message may appear asking you to agree to the installation of ActiveX components on your system, click "Yes".
Please make sure all five options are checked and then click "All my computer"
Be sure to put a check in the box by "Auto Clean" before you do the scan.
Another box will pop-up, click "Close". Your scan should then begin.
When it is finished, please click "See Report" then click "Save Report"
Please post the contents of the saved file in this thread.

Also rescan with HijackThis and include a fresh log. Thanks.
