Recovering .dbx files

I need soom help. Outlook Express 6 auto-compacted my e-mails, leaving me with completely empty folders in my local folders section. I found the dbx files but I have been unable to open them. When I try to use one of the trial modes of Express Archiver, OE Mail Recovery, or Easy Outlook Express Repair they show that their is nothing to open in the folder I direct them to. They will only read files that I have recevied after the auto-compact took place.

Any help would be appreciated.
