What other log file did you want to see? I did everything that you mentioned to do and this is the log file I got from HiJack this. I deleted all the temp files like you said.

I may be going at this all wrong, when i am running Hijack this I have not been running it in safe mode. Is that where I run it?

You're right: I don't want you to run it in safe mode. Just boot up your computer, disconnect from the internet and run Hijack This. This is very peculiar. Look where it says running processes: usually you have a whole long list of items. I don't know how your computer is running without the long list of processes running. I know you're probably very frustrated, but we will work this out. I just have never seen this before.

Please tell me exactly what problems you are having:

1. What problems you were having that originally brought you to this site.
2. What problems you are having now.
3. Is this a new computer or did you get it from someone or did you rebuild it?

These are some comments on now to get rid of it.

"Use add/remove programs to uninstall it, but the trick is to make sure you either are disconected from the internet or are running a strict firewall because when uninstalling the program it seems to try to contact the sight to reinstall itself'"

5. I see you have Spyhunter. These comments are from Tony Klein, who is one of the best:

These are some things to keep in mind: the larger problem right now is determining what is, if anything is in the top half of your log or if you are not copying and pasting it correctly.

Follow the instructions on posting a log to a "T" and post a new log after trying a few of the things I suggested. Make sure you can see "hidden files". That suggestion on how to do it was posted a few posts back.

Ok I went in to hijack this and went and made through task manager that everything was closed, and deleted all the files that I was told to delete, and they just still keep coming back! What I keep getting is the error that says "the program does have a program associated with it." The other thing is I always have to keep notepad open when I run Hijack because I copy what you are saying to do over to notepad because now I can't even print anything, could that maybe a problem? I deleted all the temp files and MidADdle, but so far it doesn't seem to be making a difference. I really don't know what to do next, here is my new log file from hijack this:

Do you close everything before you run Hijack This? I don't need you to do that.

Please do this:

Reboot. Let everything run through its cycle. Make sure you are disconnected from the internet...and run Hijack This. Copy and paste it and post the log. We'll look at it after that.

I did what you said and restarted my computer let it cycle through everything and then ran hijack this. Also, something I don't think I ever noted after Windows loads it brings up Interent Explorer on its own and brings up the MSN search page which is very starnge. Here is my hijack this log file:

Click Here to download TheKillbox. Extract TheKillBox.exe from the zip file and double click it to open it up. In the 'Enter Full Path and Filename to Delete' box, copy and paste these entries one by one, clicking 'Find and Kill This File' after each one:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\410ir.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\jason\Application Data\smot.exe

Click 'Exit' when done.

Note: If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, download and run: http://www.javacools...ngfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

Reboot your PC.

I'm still confused why they're not showing in HJT.

Are you still running more than one antivirus program? Have you disabled any startup items in MSConfig?

Ok I went and downloaded killbox and when I put in those files you said it says it could not find those files.
