Hi all,

I have recently been experiencing the Dr Watson Debugger needs to close error which locks up my computer and i have to manually reboot my pc.

I only seem to get the error when using WMP over the local network to watch a video file and it only seems to happen when using certain video files. I do not get the error when using Control Panel or Explorer like some other user have been experiencing.

I run sygate firewall, on a local network behind a router. I use ad aware and spybot weekly and my xp sp2 is fully up to date and i also use firefox instead of ie.

I am wondering whether my case of Dr Watson is a genuine one as it doesn't seem to be very malicious, but hopefully my log will sort this out.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{A045DC85-FC44-45be-8A50-E4F9C62C9A84} - (no file)
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

I do not recognize these two. If you dont either include them:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [OPTMOUSEMOUSE] C:\WINDOWS\System32\optmouse.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinsysRsr] C:\Program Files\Wsr\WinsysRsr.exe

Reboot and open Add/Remove Software
Uninstall any 3rd party Codecs you have installed.
Then try playing those files again.

Thanks for getting back to me,
OPTMOUSE.EXE is something to do with my optical mouse,

I do not know what winsysrsr.ese is but i googled it and it might be something to do with mp3's or something like that. Most of the pages are foreign so its hard to understand even with google translator.

I have fixed winsysrsr and the two other files, looking onthe site where i got the video files im trying to play, some other people have had playback problems, so im guessing it must be a problem that end not mine.

Here is another HJT lock after the fixes, i hope that everything is ok now. Thanks.
