DHCP & 169.254 Ips

Windows98SE.

Anyhow, got DHCP DSL, couldnt connect, the IP on the NIC stayed at "169.254.204.171" no matter what we did.
Today they tested me with a static IP, and I could connect fine with static IP.

How do i fix this so I can connect with the Dynamic DHCP DSL?

uh...you should just be able to set your ip configuration to automatically detect then open a command prompt and type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew

Turned out a router at the phone company was screwed up. They fixed it and now im all cool! DSL rocks, btw, after dial up. :tazz:
