program auto runs when windows starts

for some reason notpad automatically opens when i start windows 98.... is there anything i can do to where it doesnt do that anymore ... thank you

well one possiblilty is to check in the startup list in msconfig, maybe it is somehow listed as a startup?
press start>run>type "msconfig" look in the startup tab, but do not uncheck anything unless it is clearly the notepad, as you need some of the listings to operate.
If that ain't it, hope someone else can help farther.
