keyboard shortcuts

when assigning a keyboard shortcut to a macro I am recording, is there a way to make it toggle? (as, for example, the shortcut for superscript toggles this formatting on and off) Or do I just have to record a second macro with a different keyboard shortcut to turn off whatever the first macro turned on? Thanks.
