Winfixer 2005 pops up when I open internet explorer and tells me thousands of dangers threaten my computer, asking me for $39.00 to fix them. Is this a scam?

Right now I am going to say yes, its a scam. Any program that allows you to download for free, but then tells you to pay 40 bucks to protect you, I dont trust.

I will look into the program further and ask around to see if anyone knows more about this program. If you are worried about malware infestation, just reply here and I can get you a list of great FREE tools.
