Reinstalled using cd -- got Windows Update error: An error or exception occurred while calling the function "DllInstall" in "C:\windows\system\inetcpl.cpl."
Still couldn't install vector graphics, but did change option for DHCP. I restarted computer and tried to connect.
Still getting: Internet Explorer could not open the search page.
and
The page cannot be displayed.
BTW, isp install cd setup still can't find the modem either.
Didn't think about the internet setup wizard. Will try that now. Just as soon as you tell me how to find the file, please!

Modem is installed in the basement where the lines come in and is wired throughout the house through ethernet/cat5 jacks. I am plugged into the jack, between posts.
Can't locate the wizard though.

No -- still no go. I did try this set up before. Used automatic proxy settings -- still can't connect.
I'm starting to lose hope.
