Dial up networking problems

I need help with my dial-up....when i click on "Make New Connection" it gets greyed out...the same happens when I click on Modems and Telephony in the 'Control Panel', also there are no properties for "dial-up networking inside the windows setup..add/remove programs area.. i tried running the troubleshoot inside of microsoft.com for similar problems but all their answers seem to be only for windows xp and nothing for windows ME. My broadband runs fine and so was my dial-up, am not sure how my dial-up got stuffed up but according to research my problem may lie in the register keys..if there is ne1 that can help me I would greatly appreciate it
