[Stryda]

Hi I would really appreciate if you could help me I have read through a lot of the other post and tried to find a solution but cannot. In terms of system cleaners and scanners I have tried everything but possibly in the wrong order, I don't know?

My browser has been hijacked with continuous popups for abcsearches, msn searches, adserver ads, and others, additionally After about 5 minutes of browsing the net ewido goes nuts finding spyware (mostly Spyware.Lookatme) it wants to clean and then I run a full scan it find all new stuff.

I have two error pop ups at random when i am browsing.
Microsoft C++ Run time library: an buffer overun error has been detected the program cannot safely continue and must be terminated. Click O.K......... and at the same time opens.. Would you like winfixer 2005 to check your computer for free? ( Recommended ) yes or no whilst the winfixer website opens in the background and it starts trying to download to my system.

I run Zonealarm Pro which stops winfixer from loading I also run Vet Antivirus and as mentioned earlier ewido.

I have also noticed that everytime I run Hijack this the 020 Winlogon Notify file and directory is different? I though this was my problem but am well beyond my knowledge on how to fix this.

Download L2MFix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts. Then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening. After a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 or any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Please make sure you post the above log file first before you continue on. Once you do that, you may immediate do the following also:

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing Enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2MFix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new HijackThis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

OK, I see at least one trojan file in your l2mfix log there.

Download KillBox http://www.greyknigh...spy/KillBox.exe. Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. Copy the below files and go back to KillBox. Go to File->Paste from Clipboard and then hit the button with a red circle and white X. Confirm to delete and when asked if you want to reboot, say no:

Restart and run both these scans:

You may also use Panda ActiveScan at http://www.pandasoft...ucts/activescan. Post the log from the Panda scan here.

I ran Trendmicro it picked up nothing

I ran pandascan three times and all three times it stopped about 10% in and closed down my web browser so no report.

It looks good, but I would see what's wrong with that Panda scan as it shouldn't freeze on you.

Just fix this entry:
Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{D5EA309D-907E-4D3C-B79D-FE53EF22DDC7}: NameServer = 69.50.176.156 195.225.176.31

Restart and see if that O17 entry is gone in HijackThis. If so:

Download CWShredder at http://www.greyknigh.../CWShredder.exe and run it. Click on 'I Agree' button if you agree. Click on 'Fix' (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you) and then click OK. If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Let it finish the scan and then hit Next and Exit.

I don't see Ad-aware here. Did you install that? If not, install it now (it's free for personal use). Update Ad-aware and Spybot. Then boot into Safe Mode and run Ad-aware, then run Spybot. Fix what they find.

Restart and see if you still get the redirected problem.
