Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

F3 - REG:win.ini: run=C:\WINNT\inetg\services.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ulsfcb] C:\WINNT\ulsfcb.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Registrator] C:\WINNT\exedll32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [xp_system] C:\WINNT\inetg\services.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [z-WrDialer] C:\Program Files\WinPoET\WrDialer.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [NVIEW] rundll32.exe nview.dll,nViewLoadHook
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Xhdx] C:\WINNT\System32\r?ndll32.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [xp_system] C:\WINNT\inetg\services.exe

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files (if found):

C:\WINNT\inetg\services.exe
C:\WINNT\ulsfcb.exe
C:\Program Files\WinPoET\WrDialer.exe
C:\WINNT\System32\r?ndll32.exe (right-click on this and tell me what the properties are before you delete it.)

Download Ad-aware from: http://www.geekstogo...n=download&id=5

Install the program and launch it.

First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.

Next, we need to configure Ad-aware for a full scan.

-> Click on the Gear icon (second from the left) to access the preferences/settings window

1. In the General window make sure the following are selected:
  • Automatically save log-file
  • Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal
  • Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
2. Click on the Scanning button on the left and select :
  • Scan Within Archives
  • Scan Active Processes
  • Scan Registry
  • Deep Scan Registry
  • Scan my IE favorites for banned URL’s
  • Scan my Hosts file
  • Under Click here to select drives + folders, choose:
  • All of your hard drives
-> Click on the Advanced button on the left and select:
  • Include additional process information
  • Include additional file information
  • Include environment information
  • Include additional object details
-> Click the Tweak button and select:
  • Under the Scanning Engine:
    • Unload recognized processes during scanning
    • Include basic Ad-aware settings in logfile
    • Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile
  • Under the Cleaning Engine:
    • Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot
-> Click on Proceed to save the settings.

-> Click Start and on the next screen choose Activate in-depth Scan at the bottom of the page and then choose:
  • Use Custom Scanning Options
-> Click Next and Ad-aware will scan your hard drive(s) with the options you have selected.

-> Save the log file when it asks and then click Finish

-> When finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose Select All from the drop down menu and click Next).

Please delete your temporary files by deleting all files and folders that are in those folders (do not delete the temp folder itself) like for example
C:\WINDOWS\Temp\
C:\Temp\
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\
Also delete your Temporary Internet Files, be sure to also select delete all offline content.

-> Reboot your computer.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic.

Files are morphing. Let's try this, please run a free online virus scan here (tick the "Auto Clean" checkbox):
http://housecall.antivirus.com/

And a free trojan scan here:
http://www.moosoft.com/

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and we'll remove what's left.

Panda software worked.

No Viruses detected.

My printer no longer works with any application, I just noticed this.
Would this have to do with deleting C:\WINNT\inetg\services.exe

If so how do I get that filed back?

I don't believe that file has anything to do with it. Be patient. We'll get it fixed.

The first time you posted you said you were infected with the cool web search. What did you find that gave you that indication?

This may be a redundant question, but sometimes the easy questions are overlooked. :D

Have you done an individual search for each file using the search function.

Also, in XP, there's a function to show hidden processes. Microsoft urges you not to show the hidden processes, but let's have them showing for now.

Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder options > View and allow all folders to show and allow recommended processes to show.

Either use the search function or click on C: Program Files and search for Win Poet.

You may have tried that already. But I thought I would throw it out there and see if it's something that you haven't tried yet. <_<

Thanks again for sticking with me.

In the beginning when I said I was infected with CWS I could see the files show up when I did spyware scans. So after investigating other forums I downloaded the shredder and removed it.

My search function doesn't want to work so I type each one in at the address bar and also check visually in each folder. Havent found anything yet.

I'll try to show hidden processes. Thanks again
