:tazz:

In the past day or so  virus of some description (i'm guessing) has turned almost every program on my desktop and start menu to .lnk files. I can't run ANY of my usual virus software such as spybot, hijackthis. I can run norton to scan files by right clicking files and using the scan option, but still can't open the program properly to get updates. Has anyone heard of this before/know any fixes?

I can still get into firefox, as it hasn't skewered that particular program in my start menu shortcuts.

Getting frustrated as almost all of my programs are now useless!

grateful for help/advice

You might try Kelly's fixes. Scroll down to #12... right side of page.

NOTE: Most of these fixes are registry related. Please create a System restore point before making changes to your system.
