Welcome to GTG.

Please do not create duplicate topics. I merged the two topics :tazz:

Download smitRem at http://noahdfear.gee.../click.php?id=1 and save the file to your desktop.

Please download Ewido Security Suite at http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ and read the Ewido setup instructions at http://rstones12.gee.../ewidosetup.htm. Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow the download and setup instructions at http://rstones12.gee...areSE_setup.htm. Otherwise, check for updates. Don't run it yet!

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{20EC3D2D-33C1-4C9D-BC37-C2D500688DA2} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vkbkngj] C:\WINDOWS\System32\zxxswqt.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sais] c:\program files\180solutions\sais.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PCShield] regsvr32 /s "C:\WINDOWS\System32\sfg_787d.dll"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Compaq32 Service Drivers] msconfig32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RegSvr32] C:\WINDOWS\System32\msmsgs.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [intell32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\intell32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PSGuard spyware remover] C:\Program Files\PSGuard\PSGuard.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Compaq32 Service Drivers] msconfig32.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [PCShield] regsvr32 /s "C:\WINDOWS\System32\sfg_787d.dll"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Compaq32 Service Drivers] msconfig32.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [Compaq32 Service Drivers] msconfig32.exe
O16 - DPF: {11311111-1111-1111-1111-111111111157} - file://C:\Recycled\Q330995.exe
O23 - Service: ISEXEng - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\angelex.exe (file missing)
O23 - Service: ZESOFT - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe (file missing)

Run the smitRem.exe tool you downloaded earlier. Follow the prompts on the screen. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

Uninstall 180solutions from the Add/Remove panel.

Delete these if found:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\zxxswqt.exe
c:\program files\180solutions\
msconfig32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msmsgs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\intell32.exe
C:\Program Files\PSGuard\
C:\WINDOWS\System32\sfg_787d.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\angelex.exe
C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds.

Run Ewido:

* Click on scanner.
* Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
* You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
* If Ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
* Do NOT select 'Perform action on all infections'.
* If you are unsure of any entry found, select none for now.
* When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
* Save the report to your desktop.

Close Ewido.

Next go to Control Panel->Display->Desktop->Customize Desktop->Web-> Uncheck 'Security Info' if present.

Reboot back into Windows and go to http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm to do a full system scan. Make sure the autoclean box is checked. Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis log, the contents of the smitfiles.txt log and the Ewido log.

Thanks very much!!! Sorry about the double post, but I posted the other one somewhere obscure and never heard from anyone since posting yesterday. Today I realized where I should have posted it, and re-posted it there...and wammo! a response within minutes. Thanks!

I will get going on this later when work slows down...:tazz:

I guess it was moved (I think it was in Malware Forums when I checked) by another Moderator. But it shouldn't matter even if you post here. You may only bump (or create a new topic if you like) your post only if it's been 5 days without a response. As you can see we have a lot of traffic here each and every day. The lucky ones, you :tazz:, might get it earlier if we spot it. But we try to start from the older logs first so that everyone has a fair advantage ;)

HELLO - I AM WRITING IN CAPS SO YOU CAN TELL WHERE I'M WRITING AND YOU ARE WRITING EASIER. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN AND LOOK FOR MY WRITING IN CAPS.

Welcome to GTG.

Please do not create duplicate topics. I merged the two topics biggrin.gif

Download smitRem at http://noahdfear.gee.../click.php?id=1 and save the file to your desktop.

Please download Ewido Security Suite at http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ and read the Ewido setup instructions at http://rstones12.gee.../ewidosetup.htm. Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow the download and setup instructions at http://rstones12.gee...areSE_setup.htm. Otherwise, check for updates. Don't run it yet!

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{20EC3D2D-33C1-4C9D-BC37-C2D500688DA2} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vkbkngj] C:\WINDOWS\System32\zxxswqt.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sais] c:\program files\180solutions\sais.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PCShield] regsvr32 /s "C:\WINDOWS\System32\sfg_787d.dll"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Compaq32 Service Drivers] msconfig32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RegSvr32] C:\WINDOWS\System32\msmsgs.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [intell32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\intell32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PSGuard spyware remover] C:\Program Files\PSGuard\PSGuard.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Compaq32 Service Drivers] msconfig32.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [PCShield] regsvr32 /s "C:\WINDOWS\System32\sfg_787d.dll"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Compaq32 Service Drivers] msconfig32.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [Compaq32 Service Drivers] msconfig32.exe
O16 - DPF: {11311111-1111-1111-1111-111111111157} - file://C:\Recycled\Q330995.exe
O23 - Service: ISEXEng - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\angelex.exe (file missing)
O23 - Service: ZESOFT - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe (file missing)

Run the smitRem.exe tool you downloaded earlier. Follow the prompts on the screen. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

THIS IS AS FAR AS I GOT. THERE WAS NO "180SOLUTIONS" IN MY ADD/REMOVE PANEL.

Uninstall 180solutions from the Add/Remove panel.

Delete these if found:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\zxxswqt.exe
c:\program files\180solutions\
msconfig32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msmsgs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\intell32.exe
C:\Program Files\PSGuard\
C:\WINDOWS\System32\sfg_787d.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\angelex.exe
C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe

I DID NOT KNOW HOW TO LOCATE/DELETE THE ABOVE. I DID NOTHING BEYOND THIS, AND WHEN I RAN AD-AWARE THIS AM, PSGUARD DID NOT SHOW UP. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT IT IS STILL HIDING IN MY MACHINE SOMEWHERE AND WILL POP BACK INTO MY LIFE AGAIN? MY MACHINE IS RUNNING WELL NOW. BACK TO NORMAL.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds.

Run Ewido:

* Click on scanner.

If 180solutions can't be found, skip it.

Those files are all in My Computer->c: drive....and whatever path I listed there. There is one file that doesn't have a path - so search for that file (Start->Find Files and Folders and search for it there). Delete them if found.

Run through the remaining fixes if you haven't done so already.

I suggest that you post all the logs I asked for. Otherwise you might still have something hidden there that's not active - until some time later, like a few days.
