Remote access unable to grant access

I am trying to connect to a computer in my office in Houston using the Remote Access in the help & support part of Windows XP.
I have XP Professional SP2 my houston computer has SP1

After adding the email address to invite a friend, they submit the request and then get an error message that says this program is not responding.

Have tried disk defrag, restarting all the typical stuff.

Any ideas
