Welcome to GTG.

Please try not to post any other logs (besides HijackThis) unless we specifically asked for it. although I do see some files here that are very suspicious :tazz:

Please download Ewido Security Suite at http://www.ewido.net/en/download/.

1. Install Ewido Security Suite.
2. When installing, under 'Additional Options' uncheck:
* Install background guard
* Install scan via context menu
3. Launch Ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
4. The program will now open to the main screen.
5. When you run Ewido for the first time, you will get a warning 'Database could not be found!'. Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
6. You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files.
* On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
* Then click on Start Update.
7. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(the status bar at the bottom will display 'Update successful')
8. Exit Ewido. DO NOT scan yet.

If you are having problems with the updater, you can go to http://www.ewido.net...wnload/updates/ to update manually.

Download CCleaner at http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp and install it, but do not run it yet.

Download LSPFix http://www.greyknigh.../spy/LSPFix.exe and run it. Click on fire_lsp_10650.dll on the left window and click on the arrow pointing to the right. Click Finish and follow the prompts.

Download ETRemover and unzip it. Don't run it yet.

Please download Nailfix Utility at http://www.noidea.us...050711214630636 Save it to your desktop. Do NOT run it yet.

Download KillBox http://www.greyknigh...spy/KillBox.exe. Don't run it yet.

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work.

Once in Safe Mode, double-click on nailfix.exe.
Click 'Next' in the setup, then make sure 'Run Nailfix' is checked and click 'Finish'.
Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Now open Ewido and do a scan on your system.

* Click on scanner
* Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* NOTE: During some scans with Ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
o You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
o If Ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
o Do NOT select 'Perform action on all infections'
o If you are unsure of any entry found, select none for now as the action.
* Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
* Click Save report.
* Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [cfgmgr52] RunDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.dll,DllRun
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System service62] C:\WINDOWS\etb\pokapoka62.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [checkrun] C:\windows\system32\elitebfv32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ojjdsky] c:\windows\system32\mcgzht.exe r

NOTE: The 04 entry may have changed names if you have rebooted since posting the log; look for an entry with a similar format, that will always end in a single letter r.

Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. Copy the below files (select all those files I listed below and just right click on them and choose Copy) and go back to KillBox. Go to File->Paste from Clipboard and then hit the button with a red circle and white X. Confirm to delete and when asked if you want to reboot, say no:

c:\windows\system32\mcgzht.exe (or whatever the name may have changed to, as noted above).
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.dll
C:\WINDOWS\etb\pokapoka62.exe
C:\WINDOWS\etb\
C:\windows\system32\elitebfv32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\mssw32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\mssw32.exe.mwt
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ati2xxx.exe.mwt
C:\WINDOWS\System32\windrv.exe.mwt
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Firewall32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\mswau.exe.mwt
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dsass.exe.mwt
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msn6935252324325.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msn6935252324325.exe.mwt
C:\WINDOWS\System32\sass.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\scguard.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\winadh.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\winadh.exe.mwt
C:\WINDOWS\System32\lsassed.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\winlogin.exe.mwt
C:\WINDOWS\System32\winmplayd.exe

Now run CCleaner.

1. Uncheck 'Cookies' under 'Internet Explorer'.
2. If running Firefox: click on the 'Applications' tab and uncheck 'Cookies' under 'Firefox'.
3. Click on Run Cleaner in the lower right-hand corner. This can take quite a while to run.

Run ETRemover.exe now.

Finally, restart your computer and post a new HijackThis log, as well as the report log from the Ewido scan.

I'm not sure what happened there. This problem shouldn't have occurred just by downloading those programs and running LSPFix. It must be a corrupted system file.

Can you get into the boot options? Hit F8 to get that menu again. See if you can find "Load last known good configuration..." I want you to choose that if you can find it. See if that loads you into normal mode. If so, boot into Safe Mode again and continue on with the fixes.

Just wondering. Can you get into Normal Mode even?

OK, can you access anything like Internet Explorer during this time when it asks you to activate Windows? See if you can minimize this window and go online using your dial up program. Then activate it.

Was just going to ask you how you did that. Got the PM :tazz:

OK, try running Nailfix in Normal Mode - that's mainly the reason why we want you to run in Safe Mode. I'm not sure if the tool works in Normal Mode (or if it's very effective in Normal Mode). Another big reason is Ewido. That can remove so much more junk in Safe Mode than Normal Mode.

See what happens then. If you still can't get into Safe Mode without it rebooting you automatically, then do it in Normal Mode. I suggest trying to get into Safe Mode again after you do these fixes to see if it allows you to go in now.

Did you run LSPFix again? It's required here to fix a broken LSP chain you have there.

Where's the Ewido log? :tazz:

Try booting into Safe Mode and running through these steps again:

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work.

Once in Safe Mode, double-click on nailfix.exe.
Click 'Next' in the setup, then make sure 'Run Nailfix' is checked and click 'Finish'.
Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Now open Ewido and do a scan on your system.

* Click on scanner
* Click Save report.
* Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [cfgmgr52] RunDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.dll,DllRun
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System service62] C:\WINDOWS\etb\pokapoka62.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [myxxfqq] c:\windows\system32\ekxqrb.exe r

NOTE: The 04 entry may have changed names if you have rebooted since posting the log; look for an entry with a similar format, that will always end in a single letter r.

Locate and delete the following:

c:\windows\system32\ekxqrb.exe (or whatever the name may have changed to, as noted above).
C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.dll
C:\WINDOWS\etb\

Run ETRemover.exe.

Finally, restart your computer and post a new HijackThis log, as well as the report log from the Ewido scan.
