can anyone help please, i have downloaded windows media player 10 and it is so slow. it takes about three hours to burn a cd. is there anything that can be done to speed it up i have windows xp, and never had the problem with previous versions of media player. i would be gratefull for any help.

hi first what is the write speed on the disk? if that is not it You can change the setting media player by click on burn, then at the top right you will see a red check mark click on it. then at the bottom click on fastest. If that does not work it could be you're burner. How old is the computer?

my computer is two years old. my burner is new, my discs are,1x24x 700 mb 80 mins, i will try what you advised many thanks for replying.

If That does not work go in to My Computer, next right click on you're burner and go to properties. Next go to recording at the top and finally at the bottom you can select you're writing speed. Then click Apply, Then OK. Then try burning a CD.
