Router Problem!

Hello world. Was wondering if someone could help me out with my Router troubles. I currently own a Wireless-B 4-port router from Lynksys model #BEFW11S4. I also have a Motorola Cable Modem with Phone service. Now when I have my cable modem plugged into the router I have connection for two days of less than it cuts out. This cut out makes me either unplug everything and restart or if it's bad enough plug the cable modem directly into the computer. When my cable modem is plugged directly into the computer there are not cut out's at all. Does this have to do with the router settings? and if so can anyone help me to tune my router so it does not cut out? Thanks.
