Computer Freezes

Hi, I need help please. My computer has started freezing for 1 minute every 3 minutes. Also my hourglass has a tendency to pulsate lately and I'm not sure what is causing that. I have done the 3 finger salute and there is nothing in there that is running. Please help me, this is driving me nuts.
