I checked the forums and downloaded the usual utilities.
In safe mode did the following in the order listed

It blocked winfixer from deploying
It also blocked Aurora ABI pop ups.

However, the initial code got back into the HJT log again.
I purchased Ad-Aware Plus and it keeps blocking the pop ups and Registry changes.

I want to get rid of the malware/spyware for GOOD\. I am not a computer professional but can follow instructions to fix.....
Please advise me how to deal with this recurring problem.

some of these programs you are being asked to d/load you already have. if so ignore the d/load instructions, but please run them in the order i have posted below.



Please disable AdWatch, as it may hinder the removal of some entries. You can re-enable it after you're clean.
To disable AdWatch:

• Open AdAware SE.
• Go to AdWatch User Interface.
• Go to Tools and Preferences.
• At the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options Active and Automatic.
• Active: This will turn Ad-Watch On\Off without closing it
• Automatic: Suspicious activity will be blocked automatically
• Uncheck both options. You can enable these after resolving your problem.
• Unless they are turned off they could interfere with the fix by HijackThis.

Click on start, then run, and type cmd and press the ok button. Then type the following:

sc stop SvcProc

and press the enter key, wait a few moments, there might be an error,
if so continue on iregardless>

Type

sc delete SvcProc

Type exit and hit enter to exit the cmd prompt



Step 1

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite from here. Install it and update the program with the latest definitions. Setup the program following the instructions here and then close it without running a scan. We'll use it in Safe Mode.

Please download Nailfix from here.
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.


Step 2

Reboot into Safe Mode and double-click Nailfix.cmd.
A window should open and close very quickly (this is normal).

Step 3

Then please run Ewido security suite, and perform a full system scan.
Remove anything found, and save the logfile from the scan, I'll ask you to post it here for me later.

Step 4

Then click on Start | Run and type cleanmgr into the run box.
Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files and Recycle Bin ONLY are checkmarked and click 'OK'.
Then click on Start | Run, and type %temp% and press the ok button.
This will open up the temp directory that your machine uses.
Please delete all files that are found there.

Step 5

Run HijackThis again and place a check before the following entries:-

Thanks for the Help BRICAT,

I did exactly like u suggested, it did not work. However, I figured out the problem though. I found out that my Ad-Watch was not totally disabled during the whole process in my previous efforts to clean the spyware and also following ur recommendation.
The only course (bullet proof) was to uninstall the program and reisntall after clean up.

I used all the programs I listed in my quote + the steps about SvcProc ( I could not find that in HJK scan or anywhere).

I DONT SEE THE ANY TRACES OF SPYWARE IN MY HJK LOG AND NO ANNOYING POPUP EITHER.

FYI:
I found that my Ad-Watch settings were set to start the Ad- Watch everytime I start computer. After cleaning the spyware in SAFE mode, when I started the ccompter in NORMAL mode, I had Ad-Watch started and it blocked all the changes I made before (I was stupid to click Block, thinking that the spyware was trying to make those changes). It would have helped if I disabled the Ad-Watch at start up.

DISABLE SYSTEM RESTORE run your anti virus, when you get the all clear
restart your system restore.(same page).then create a new restore point :-

click START\ALL PROGRAMS\ACCESSORIES\SYSTEM TOOLS\SYSTEM RESTORE. click on "create new restore point"
click on NEXT and follow the prompts.

this is to ensure that if you have to do a system restore in the future that you don't get all the nasties reinstalled again.

Then

Go to TOOLS\INTERNET OPTIONS. and delete all TEMP INTERNET FILES

Download CCLEANER


then run the scan under the windows tab.


then DEFRAG your C:\ drive.

to help speed up your system.
