Help in start-up resolution problem

Here's the basics:

Computer starts up fine in 1024 by 768... That IS GOOD!! but a second later it switches to 640 by 480 which is BAD!!! Now I have to change it back and rearrange alot of icons (BOTHERSOME) :tazz:

It may be the system or It could be Grand theft Auto 3 which I play some times. Anyway, can some tell me a way to always have 1024 by 768 resolution? Thanks!!!
