I use Novatix Explorer Plus for file management.
I often forget what certain *.exe files do, so, to identify a file I have tried to open its "properties" and typed a short description in the box that shows the, usually cryptic name.

So far so good, but I wonder if there is a better way allowing more text etc. Way back in the DOS days there was some freeware that allowed this.
