So I just re-installed win XP pro and managed to get infected with a Sndc.worm!p2p Win32 worm. I have McAffe security center and it managed to pick up most of these and delete them, however, now I am getting a popup stylized as a windows alert tyring to get me to go to www.winregedit.com for a "Free registry scan." Does anyone have any idea what the heck this is. I re-ran the virus scan with no hits, however, my firewall is showing 92% usage for the "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services"

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
