Hey guys, I had a problem with my sata drive, and had to flash my bios and reinstall XP. Problem is, I forgot to stick in the XP SP2 upgrade and before I knew it I had Aurora, winfixer, just about everything. I have removed most of them through regedits and scans with hijack this. Problem is, ICCEE and 1800Patches.com or Casinonet are still popping up. Symentec says it keeps finding Casinonet and erasing it, Eiwido says the same thing. I erase them, reboot in safe (all with restore off) and its coming back. I think I need a new set of eyes, as I am getting jaded. Any ideas would be down right sweet!

Hello and welcome to Geeks To Go.

Lets start out with some general scans and see if we cant clean things up a little.

+++++ Step 1 +++++
Please download ewido security suite it is a free version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
    • Install background guard
    • Install scan via context menu
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
ewido manual updates

Once the updates are installed do the following:
  • Run Ewido Security Suite . Set the program up as follows:[list]
  • Click on scanner
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
  • Binder
  • Crypter
  • Archives
  • Click on Start Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
    While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean the first file. Choose "clean", then put a check next to "Perform action on all infections" in the left corner of the window (this way you don't have to sit and watch ewido) click OK
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop.

+++++ Step 2 +++++

Please run a Scan at any of the Following sites
Symantec/Norton
Trend Micro
BitDefender On-Line Virus Scan
Panda ActiveScan
F-Secure
Kaspersky

Make sure that you choose the "fix" or "clean" option when available
Please Take note of any files that were uncleanable and post the filenames here in your next reply

+++++ Step 3 +++++

Update HiJackThis
  • Open HiJackThis
  • Click Open the Misc Tools Section
  • Click Check for update online
+++++ Step 4 +++++

After that, I will need to see a Recent HijackThis log (preferrable taken today!)

Post back with those logs and we can continue from there.

If you have received help elsewhere or no longer need our assistance, please let us know.
