I have run Cleanup! and NoAdware, but WinFin will not go away. The program keeps coming back like a psycho girlfriend. I'm also getting Internet Explorer poping up with various ads. Help. I ran HijackThis and got a log after I ran the previously mentioned. Hopefully, I attached properly.

IMPORTANT you need to Move HijackThis to a permanent folder for the important backup feature to work properly.

To do this:

Go to My Computer (Windows key + E ), double click on C:
Click File > New > Folder

Name it HijackThis and unzip/move or download the program again to this folder.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files,

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #4 to Merge Winlogon Notify Defaults, Press enter, wait a few moments
Now select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear,
then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread,after you fix these HJT entries. along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Rerun HJT,and put a checkmark beside these :-

now close all windows and browsers and click FIX CHECKED

Then go to ADD\REMOVE programs in the control panel and remove :-

Then boot up in SAFE MODE

Then navigate to and delete these files\folders in BOLD

C:\WINDOWS\ZGVmYXVsdAAA<----folder

then reboot and post a fresh Hijackthis log and the L2MFIX log.

-Created the new folder for HijackThis went smoothly.
-Downloading L2mfix....no problem
- Pressing #4 and #2 did okay. There were a few extra "Enter" keys I had to do.
- After #2 the machine rebooting before I could copy a log.
- Was able to do the "Fix Checked"
- Not sure what you wanted me to remove in the "ADD/REMOVE" programs.
- I was able to delete the bold file you suggested.

I am WINFIXER 2005 still popping up. There is a shortcut on my desktop with ""C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\CONFLICT.7\UWFX5LP_0001_0803NetInstaller.exe" as the TARGET.

Still getting other POP UP ADS for Poker, etc.

I could not copy a log at the time I did the #4 & #2 procedure bescause my system rebooted. I ran L2mfix again at the end and selected #1 "Run Find Log". He is the copy and paste.

Try this one again :-

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!
