My system is infected with W32/Alemod.e.dll, according to McAfee virus scan, which reports it is unable to quarantine or delete it. It recommends a rescue disk.

I don't know what a rescue disk is, much less having one. Please tell me the options available to get rid of W32/Alemod.e.dll?

No, this is a separate inquiry. I didn't include a HJT log with this because I thought there may be a generic answer about W32/Alemod.e.dll. I have a reply to my earlier post and will work through those steps.

Mention the infection in the other thread and you will receive help there.

I'm closing this one so the proposed fixes don't interfere with one another.
