Ran through the suggested steps. Didn't find any of the programs that you said to disable/ delete. I did uninstall ad smasher since you wanted all of that folder removed. Is it okay to leave mcafee and ewido running?

If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. We have been finding some cases of false positives with the new version of Ewido, so we need to step through the fixes one-by-one. If Ewido finds something that you KNOW is legitimate (for example, parts of AVG Antivirus, pcAnywhere and the game "Risk" have been flagged), select "none" as the action. DO NOT check "Perform action with all infections". If you are unsure of an entry, select "none" for the time being. I'll see that in the log you will post later and let you know if ewido needs to be run again.

* Reboot your system back to normal mode.

click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut, then do a full system scan. Make sure the autoclean box is checked!

Just a random bad file to clean up.

* Open HiJackThis
* Click on the configure button on the bottom right
* Click on the tab "Misc Tools"
* Click on "Delete File on Reboot"
* Navigate to this file - C:\Documents and Settings\Kyle\Application Data\Sskcwrd.dll
* Double click on that file.
* HJT asks you if you want to reboot, now. Click "no".

Looks good. No unwanted popups when I use IE. I think I saw a posting somewhere on suggestions to keep from getting infected again. Can you point me in the right direction or give me some suggestions?

Good job. I will keep this topic open for a few days in case you run into any more problems.

The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again.

• Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.
  
• AdAware - Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.
  
• SpywareBlaster - Great prevention tool to keep nasties from installing on your system.
  
• SpywareGuard - Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.
  
• IE-SpyAd - puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
  
• CleanUP! - Cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.
  
• Windows Updates - It is very important to make sure that both Internet Explorer and Windows are kept current with the latest critical security patches from Microsoft. To do this just start Internet Explorer and select Tools > Windows Update, and follow the online instructions from there.
  
• Google Toolbar - Free google toolbar that allows you to use the powerful Google search engine from the bar, but also blocks pop up windows.
  
• Trillian or Miranda-IM - These are Malware free Instant Messenger programs which allow you to connect to multiple IM services in one program! (AOL, Yahoo, ICQ, IRC, MSN)
  
• Weather Watcher - Free taskbar weather program that is free, malware free, and resource light.
