i was trying to install php yesterday and after a while i just gave up but when i had deleted all the php files i noticed that when i create a html file there is no icon with the file type but the file still opens with internet explorer?

does any1 no how i can get the icon back for that file type

i've tryed folder options>file types - changed the icon on the html file and ive tryed clicking on file properties and changing the program to use?

Download a Power toy software for windows XP.
Go to this site:
http://www.microsoft...ppowertoys.mspx
Then look for (on the right hand side) a software called Tweak UI
Then click on TweakUI.exe
Download it and install it.
Once that is done, go to Start>All Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>TweakUI.
Once that has opened look for an option on the left hand side called Repair
make sure that Rebuild Icons is selected and click Repair now.
Once that is done, click ok, then reboot your computer.

I think IE is trying to look for Outlook (not express), Word or Frontpage.
Open IE.
In the menu bar, click Tools->Internet Options.
In the Internet Options Window, click on the Programs tab.
See if one of the aforementioned programs are in anyone of the combo-boxes(drop-down menus); if yes, change it to an alternative.
