;) :) i am a new user, cuz i do not know what to do. Had run ccleaner, norton antivirus and try to find a removal tool from it but seemed the virus won't go away. first i got winfixer ad pop up and because i was ignorant, then problem started over. suddenly the trojan.cmapp virus visited me and even it would not want to go away after i had tried to many ways. :tazz:

Hi ,

Please print out these instructions or copy them into a text file on your Desktop for easy access.

During the fix, u will be asked to fix some entries, delete some files or uninstall some programs. If in case, you do not see those entries / files / programs, please make a note of it. Continue with the fix and in your next post please inform me of all deviations from the fix prescribed.

1. Download Programs

Please download these programs and save them in a new folder on your desktop -

CleanUp
Ewido Security Suite

Install Ewido, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

2. Remove Infections

Restart the PC in Safe Mode (repeatedly tap the F8 key when the PC is starting up).

Run CleanUp and delete all temp files including temporary internet files

Run Ewido full scan. Let it fix any items it finds.

3. Run Hijack This

Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp...rch/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
O16 - DPF: {AED98630-0251-4E83-917D-43A23D66D507} (WebHandler Class) - http://activex.micro...n7/dlhelper.cab

Close all windows other than Hijack This. Check the boxes next to above items and click on Fix checked.

Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch. It will open the folder Prefetch. Delete all the files in that folder. Dont delete the folder, only the files in it !!!!!!!!

Reboot the PC in Normal Mode.

Run Hijack This and post a fresh HJT log along with Ewido scan report.

Oh I have to do that once again. I thought it is done. Actually it is behaving fine but I got a problem with opening a specific link <www.myspace.com>. I can open that in my office but I could not open it here (my home PC which got the trojan before). I was wondering whether I made a wrong click somewhere not by purpose. Everytime I click on myspace link, this message would come out :

ERROR: The requested URL could not be retrieved

You are not currently allowed to request

http://www.myspace.com/

from this cache due to Access control configuration.

Generated Fri, 19 Aug 2005 07:55:46 GMT by server1 (squid/2.5.STABLE9)

so what did I do wrong? Only to my PC. What is Access control configuration? I had set all the settings right.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Are you having this issue in Firefox or Internet Explorer ?? Access Control seems relevant only to IE !!!!

To check on how to modify the IE settings, open the help and then check for Access Control. It will give you detaile dinformation on how to set up, change / alter the settings.

:tazz: no Tampabelle, it is not resolved yet, I do not have any ideas why it happened. I cannot open the site both in IE and Mozilla. I never blocked that site before, and when I check on the content in IE, I did not enable the access control in the internet options (for access). I guess the problem was not from there. :)

Hi

lets try this

1) Download Hoster.zip. Unzip the contents of the file and save them on your desktop. Locate Hoster.exe in the extracted file and run it.

Click on "Restore Original Hosts". Click OK and exit Hoster.

2) Download DelDomains.inf.
