Hi,

How can I reinstall wininet.dll ? As of now when I start computer I just get my desktop and wallpaper and then the errror message comes up "This application has failed to start because Wininet.dll was not found, reinstalling the application mayfix this problem"

I have no start button so I can not access anything.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Dave

After the error message can you press ctrl + alt + del keys together, this should give you task manager, click file, new task, type explorer.exe then press enter

This will be the easiest

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;304449

This will let you repair and keep your current data and settings

http://www.theelderg..._windows_xp.htm

Run Windows Installation CD to repair the current installation at bottom of list.

It won't have any restore points if you do

Look here

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;307545

or run the repair from the link

http://www.theelderg..._windows_xp.htm

If you reinstall XP you will lose programmes and files

If you repair XP from the link you will keep programmes and files
