virus..possibly winfixer? [CLOSED]

My computer was running extremely slow, which was weird because i also run anti-virus programs atleast twice a week, but nothing really showed up. Then winfixer 2005 kept popping up every two seconds that i was in internet explorer. I tried to get rid of it then a few days ago my computer sort of restarted itself and restarted a lot of my preferences back to the original state (ie. background was changed to when i first got it..etc..it was just as if i had just gotten it, except all my programs and documents were still there!). Now internet explorer wont even open. HELP ME..PLEASE!!

You got a Qoologic infection. Before we start with the fix, we will begin with some organizations.

I can see that your Hijackthis is still in the ZIP file. Please extract it then transfer in a safe folder (C:\Hijackthis\) so it can create backups.

Second, I can see that you installed two(2) antivirus programs: Norton Symantec AV and F-Secure Anti-Virus. Both offer very good services, however they cause conflict with each other once two AV are installed. You must decide which of the two to keep and which to uninstall.

We need to disable this protection program since this will hinder our fix. We will re-enable it later when your system is clean.

Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon (looks like a target) and click on Security Agents Status (Enabled) and click on Disable Real-time Protection. To re enable it, you follow the same steps but click on Enable Real-time Protection.

NOW THE FIX:

Please Download the following tools to assist us in removing this infection!
  • Download WinPFind
    • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
    • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
    • Dont do anything with it yet!
  • Download Track qoo
    • Save it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop

Reboot into Safe Mode (How to boot in Safe Mode...)
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
  • Once the Scan is Complete
  • Go to the WinPFind folder
  • Locate WinPFind.txt
  • Place those results in the next post!

Please close all remaining windows, disconnect from the internet, open HijackThis then click SCAN. Please put a check on the following items listed below:

Through Windows Explorer, delete the following folder(s) or files(s) if they exist (in bold):
  • C:\Program Files\AdwareAlert\ <-- whole folder
  • C:\WINDOWS\c2FyYWgA\ <-- whole folder
  • C:\WINDOWS\system32\spdggs.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Spyware Nuker 2004\ <-- whole folder
Finally, Empty Recycle Bin

++++++++ STEP 6 ++++++++
Open up NOTEPAD, then copy & paste the follwing codes (starting from @echo off). Save it on desktop as fixme.bat. Choose file types as ALL FILES.

@echo off

sc stop cmdService
sc delete cmdService

Now double-click fixme.bat
(NOTE: You can delete this file afterwards.)

++++++++ STEP 7 ++++++++
Reboot back to Normal Mode!

Double Click on "Track qoo.vbs"

Note - If you Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Windows asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up, Copy & Paste those results and place them in the next post along with the results of WinPFind!

Firstly, I think you haven't followed my directions carefully.

1.) You Hijackthis log was taken from SAFE MODE, am I correct? Please have another log taken in normal mode.

2.) You still haven't uninstall Adware Alert, please uninstall this bad software.

3.) I can still see that you have two(2) Antivirus programs, they really come in conflict. Please select only one of them then uninstall the other one.

4.) I can still see that you did NOT disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware, please disable this for a moment and we will re-enable it when your system is all clean.

  • During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK
  • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.
  • When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido

Be sure to View Hidden and System Files.

Through Windows Explorer, delete the following folder(s) or files(s) if they exist (in bold):
  • C:\Program Files\AdwareAlert\ <--whole folder
  • C:\WINDOWS\c2FyYWgA\ <--whole folder
Finally, Empty Recycle Bin

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe again
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
  • Once the Scan is Complete[list]
  • Go to the WinPFind folder
  • Locate WinPFind.txt
  • Place those results in the next post!

Reboot back into Windows and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut, then do a full system scan. Make sure the autoclean box is checked! Save the Scan Log.

Double Click on "Track qoo.vbs" again.

Note - If you Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Windows asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up, Copy & Paste those results and place them in the next post along with the results of WinPFind!

Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis Log, and Ewido Log by using Add Reply.
