Hi all,

my windows xp has change its style, it now looks like win 98, this in itself isn`t a majour problem but every time i boot the compuuter up and log in to windows it finds new hardware, (a dvd burner 1008, a dvd burner 1009, a cd-rw, 2 x ide channels and an Unknown). if i try and install the drivers the system just hangs, but if i click cancel every thing works fine. Also i have recently bought an epson r300 and tried to install it but it cant find the correct drivers for it or for the usb2 port (which where already installed).

i would appricate any help as i don't really want to resort to formatting the drives and installing windows again.

Cheers

Hi Pete and welcome to Geekstogo.

I can help you with your desktop theme

download a copy of luna.msstyles here:
http://users.pandora...patchy/luna.zip

Unzip it and MOVE the luna.msstyles which is present in that folder you unzipped to next folder: C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna
Don't move it to anywhere else than that folder!

When moved it there, rightclick on your desktop > properties ... and look if Windows XPstyle is now present again. Choose apply and OK.

If not, reboot first, and try again to select Windows XPstyle

Then, go into Device Manager and see if there is anything in there with a yellow or red mark..
