Ok... I was able to run f-secure now. It reported no viruses found.

Overall things are working much better with the following exceptions:

I obviously have internet connection through IE. Sites seem to open good but,
Outlook Express will not connect and other than this last attemp with f-secure anything that requires any kind of *download* will not connect (eg: media player, realplayer, on-line scanners, etc.).

I timed the system startup (from reboot) and over three starts it averaged 4 min. 23 sec. from turnon to desktop.

The l2mfix has been updated to assess some of the problems like we have had!

I am unsure if this is exactly what the problem is but it can hurt to try this first!

So download the latest version from here
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Follow all the same steps and scan using Option 1!

Let me see that log!

Also,when trying to use Outlook,do you get a specific error code?

Yep, still have the Ewido.

The Outlook Express error message reads:

A time-out occurred while communicating with the server. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

Also, I have noticed RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, MP3 downloads, even trying to update drivers, etc. will not connect. I guess the best way to describe it is that nothing other than web pages seems to connect.

Ok,here is one thing I want you to try!

Please dont surf the net while we are trying this,since during both steps you are going to be totally unprotected!

Disable everything Antivirus Firewall or AntiSpyware that may be running and I mean everything!

Try to use Outlook!

Then restart in Safe Mode,this time I want you to choose Safe Mode with Networking!

This may allow an Internet Connection while in Safe Mode!

Try using Outlook again along with any of the other programs that arent working!

Let try to eliminate the possibility that some other software has been corrupted and isnt allowing these functions to run properly!
