Hmm did you install the codecs from the windows site? (making sure).

The first thing that I woudl try is the malware forum and see if they can help you there. If not come back here and we will see what we can do, but go to the malware foram first and don't format yet.

but it cant be malware! it worked fine, but the moment i removed that k-lite pack it doesnt work, i really dont see how it would be involved with malware

Yes Format is last resort.
Me neither but the computer doesn't have AI so it has to be something.
Did you try reinstalling the codec or deleting the kazaa lite?

Problem Resolved! What a releif, i did another system restore and now everything is back to normal, never touching files i dont know ever again!

Glad to know that is is fixed, and yes that is a very good idea if you don't know what you are doing.

have you run Gspot on the avi in question to determine which codec decompresses it? once you know that, getting the right codec is relatively simple.

real player just use that its the best if it needs any thing to play a file it just downloads it ive had it for ages and its great
