Winfixer Invasion

Hello, I have run into the get the free version of winfixer, and the yada, yada, yada. Well after I clicked on it I decided not too install. Yet, I still have the pop-up window trying too load at every start up. And the desktop icon keeps coming back even if I delete it that says install winfixer. Also a funny round white icon with yellow ring sitting on the task bar....how in the heck can I get rid of this...and for what purpose would someone try and make you install something you don't want to try or buy..
