Hi, at the bottom of this message there are three other online scans listed. Please do a scan at any one of them.

It shouldnt matter that you have Windows 98. Panda should work. It should be something about the settings on your IE. I dont want to disturb them at this point

Wow!

I used Bit Defender, and it found 3 new trojan viruses. They were locatedin the Browserextra folder?

The rest of the viruses listed in the report I am going to post were from my Norton Quarrantine folder. I didn't realize what a piece of garbage Norton is!!!

Here is the Bit Defender report:

If the files were in Norton Quarantine, then it means that Norton identified them and them removed them from your system. Usually AV programs quarantine files so that, in case they are required / wrongly identified, then the files can be restored back.

How is your PC behaving now ???

WEll....

I re-booted after the Bit Defender scan, and the About:Blank page came up and multiplied over and over and over opening window after window. I ctrl/alt/deleted and shut down, then re-booted and during start-up it locked up?

Should I boot into safe mode, and get a hijack log? I'm not sure I can boot normally now, because it is locking up.

Post a HJT log from the Safe Mode.

Other than the Normal log of HJT, also post a startup list. Run Hijack This. Click on config ---> Misc Tools. There are two items next to "Generate Startup List". Check both the boxes and then click on Generate Startup List.

Post both the logs here.

Ok. For some reason when booted up normally, everthing was OK, except for the About:blank page appearing (except now it is google, probably because I changed the home page in internet explorer from about:blank to google.com).

Anyway, here is the Hijack log:

My computer is very slow in starting up. It seems like since I added a few programs over the past few months that they have become part of the toolbar on the lower left of the screen. Is there any way to speed it up?

Here is the startup list:

Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IEXPLORE.EXE] C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORE.EXE

Close all windows other than Hijack This. Check the boxes next to above items and click on Fix checked.

Go to the Start Menu folder and delete the following links -

MSN Quick View.lnk
Microsoft Find Fast.lnk
Reality Fusion GameCam SE.lnk

That will spedd up the boot process.

Reboot the PC and let me know if the blank page appears at start up !!!

Thanks T-belle!

Everything seems OK, that [bleep] blank web page is finally gone!!!

Would it be OK for me to run a defrag...if it even works? The last few times I tried the screen would come up, and it would seem like it was going, but it never did.
Maybe one of the viruses attacked it!

Thanks for all of your help, especially with your easy to follow instructions for everything.
